Aldo: Diaz Will Win Again, Quicker Than Last Time

Aldo will not be rematching McGregor at UFC 200 as he wanted but he is keeping a close eye on the struggle Conor is facing in Diaz rematch set for UFC 202.

Instead, at UFC 200 Aldo will be facing Frankie Edgar for the interim belt.

Jose Aldo confirmed in an interview with tatame magazine that he expects Connor will be back shortly in the featherweight division.

He’ll be back … I do not know if it will be after this next fight or one after, but I know he will come back… He can indeed fight for the lightweight belt but we’ve seen what happened – he won’t get it. I think he needs to stay at featherweight where he can still go forward.

Aldo went on to bet an even faster victory was in the cards for Diaz vs Mcgregor rematch:

“Nate’s victory again, because he’s the guy who’s already used to fighting in that weight class. I think it’s much harder for a lighter guy to move up a weight class and face a guy who is already used to it. I think this time it’ll be even quicker because Nate is more prepared… He can slap McGregor and keep him in his place”

But Aldo had his own critics to face in form of Frenkie Edgar:

“I couldn’t care less what he says or doesn’t say. I know I’m training hard here. I will be in great shape in the fight. I’m hungry to win this fight. There was no fight last time (against Conor McGregor), so we’ll see.”
