As if the Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship (ADXC) didn’t already have enough thrilling fights to make up its next card, a new and exciting match has been confirmed for the tournament, which takes place in Abu Dhabi on January 19th…
The newest addition to the main card is the Lightweight Jiu-Jitsu bout between Gabriel Sousa and Yuta Shimada!
The clash between Brazil and Japan will be held at the spacious Mubadala Arena over three rounds, each with three minutes of duration, and in the ADXC ruleset, which adds even more fuel to the fires of competition that will brightly shine at the already famous ADXC cage.

Sousa comes as one of the hottest names in his weight division. With powerful performances in recent seasons, both in Jiu-Jitsu and grappling, the Brazilian black belt has shown his prowess in the greatest battlefields of the sport and will bring his full might to the ADXC cage as he fights for another high-profile victory.
His explosive style and well-refined techniques stand to make this a memorable duel from start to finish.

Meanwhile, Shimada has been carving a name for himself in the Asian competitive scene for the last couple of years. The Japanese athlete has many titles earned as a black belt in his homeland and he now joins the ADXC card to face one of the most challenging battles of his career.
With an extremely versatile and submission-focused game, Shimada will spare no effort as he uses his vast arsenal of neck and arm attacks to achieve greatness in the UAE.
