IBJJF will be organizing the 2nd edition of the grand Prix for which the awards total over 40.000$.
Previous edition of the Grand Prix was arranged as a part of the huge UFC expo surrounding UFC’s jubilant 200th edition.
In the first edition of the event Marcus Almeida Buchecha took home the huge prize. Later on he said:
IBJJF should be congratulated for taking initiative to offer a prize as big as the Absolute Division of ADCC. The format and the criteria for selecting participants were also good. I’m glad to have been in the first event. I always fought for an even of this format. I complained for a long time. So when they called me, I accepted first even if I wasn’t going to be 100%. – said Buchecha
2nd edition of the IBJJF Grand Prix also promises to feature Andre Galvao. The seasoned athlete will be a huge contender for the prize.
6 more entrants into the Grand Prix will be announced later on.
