Keenan Cornelius Shares On How To Deal With DQs in BJJ

Sport jiu jitsu has many pitfalls but one of the hardest things to deal with is when rules simply aren’t on your side or are open to interpretation.

After winning his first match easily, he lost his second match by DQ for a questionable knee reap on Diego Nogueira.

Keenan just released a video explaining just what your options are if you get DQed and how the ref perspective is biased due to the fact that majority of them just don’t compete at a high level (high level being purple and above).

The only way to reverse a DQ, Keenan explains is if you stay on the mat, ask for the footage to be reviewed and they determine that your opponent forced you to reap them.

Besides that there’s no other situations where they will take it back. Mainly they say sorry we were wrong but the bracket’s already moved on and the other guy left so…
