Goatee-less Chuck Liddell Back On The Mat Training BJJ with Gabriel Arges

UFC legend Chuck Liddell took to Instagram to show that he is back in the gym and working on his Jiu-Jitsu with BJJ champion Gabriel Arges of the famed Gracie Barra Northridge Academy, home of Romulo Barral and Edwin Najmi!

The Iceman is 47 years old and hasn’t fought since 2010. Although he has been training BJJ since 1997, he hasn’t been training much BJJ in the past few years.

The goatee-less champion stated:

Liddell is a 5th degree Black Belt in Kempo under John Hackleman, Purple Belt in Jiu-Jitsu under John Lewis, Division 1 NCAA wrestler at California Polytechnic State University.

His notable titles are UFC World Light Heavyweight Champion (former), UFC Hall of Fame Inductee 2009, USMTA North American Heavyweight Title, IFK National Heavyweight Title, IFC Heavyweight Champion.

2 years ago, Liddel was pictured training with his ld bjj instructor John Lewis and he had stated:

“I while back I would train in the gi. I started Jiu-Jitsu in 1997 and every day I learn something new and try to get better,”

“I like striking but, if you don’t have good Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling, you won’t be a good striker. I liked Ronaldo Jacaré’s fight against Matt Lindland at Strikeforce. His Jiu-Jitsu is impressive. He’s the kind of fighter I like to watch,”
