Checkmat Sweden’s Alan “Finfou” Nascimento had a semifinal match against Otavio de Souza, in the middleweight weight class. When Otavio applied his trademark omoplata to armbar transition, Finfou hit his face on the mat and became paralyzed from the neck down.
