Last weekend there was some top Jiu-Jitsu in various parts of the planet.
In Rome, Italy, on Friday and Saturday, Alan Finfou Nascimento was the star of the show, after winning the title at light heavyweight, beating Rodrigo Reis in absolute of Rome Open IBJJF and took two gold medals home.
The son of BJJ legend Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva, the Alliance black belt Victor Genovesi shone at featherweight and climbed the highest place of the podium.
On Saturday and Sunday, during the European Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi which was held in the same location, local athletes tested their skills without the Gi.
AJ Agazarm won the black belt absolute adult, one of the leading titles in his career so far. To achieve this feat, the Gracie Barra black belt beat Vedran Ikic (Checkmat-Team Neves Croatia) and Mauricio Henrique (Cicero Costha) in the final of the Open. AJ also won the light weight, overcoming Paulo Henrique (Zenith BJJ) in the final.
At master, Alan Finfou once again dominated among veterans to win the light heavyweight and absolute. At the end of the open category, the Checkmat athlete also beat Wim Deputter (Brasa) to get the gold medal IBJJF.

In the United States, at the Boston Open, Gianni Grippo won the lightweight and open category. A choke gave the representative of the Alliance the victory over Renan Borges.
