Metamoris Launches Challenger – Pro Competition Circuit- Open To All Grapplers

 

 

Metamoris, the famous grappling submission only invitational is taking it one step further.

 

Canada. The tournaments will be in round robin format, so the athlete with the most submissions will win his group.  Then, the regional winners will all face each other in the finals, which will be broadcasted live from Los Angeles. The winners of each weight class will take home $10K. These kinds of tournaments give grapplers the chance to get exposure, and possibly earn some cash. However, these tournaments are kind of exclusive. Only 16 athletes are allowed in each weight class.

The tournaments starts on September 11th, 2015, and they are planning to spread to Europe and Asia in 2016.

Here are the details:

–  Spots are limited to 16 people per weight class per location (no exceptions). Online registration system is built to work in real time and works on a first come first serve basis. Any advanced grapplers above 18 years of age. Brown to Black Belts or similar for non-belt grappling arts.

– Six weight divisions (1 absolute for women)

– Events will be in 24 US cities and Canada.

– Rules are submission only round robin format. The athlete with the most submissions will win his group. The winners of these qualifying tournaments will face off against each other in a second, regional, tournament.

– In the finals, eight athletes per weight class will be compete in Los Angeles California and the event will be broadcasted live.

-The winner of each weight class gets 10 000 dollars and a contract for Metamoris.
