Marlon Sandro to Conor McGregor: ‘Come to the Favela. Let’s See if You’re Brave’

On episode six of the UFC 189 “Embedded” pre-fight video blog, McGregor end up in Boston. McGregor gets in Jose Aldo’s face and calls him a ‘Brazilian bitch’.

Many Brazilians do not appreciate McGregor’s behavior. Bellator fighter Marlon Sandro is Jose Aldo’s training partner and he had a direct message for McGregor.

Sandro is from Morro de Santo Amaro, a famous slum in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Growing up poor, Sandro worked several jobs as a teenager. Before being introduced to Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Sandro had trained in Capoeira and also competed in surfing.

Marlon Sandro told Combate.com:

Let’s see if he is brave and if he will sing like a rooster up here. You should know the favela. I’m inviting McGregor to come here in the favela after getting in a fight against Aldo. When Aldo beats him, I will have the satisfaction of bringing him here. Provocation is part of the game, but mess with the country, with family, pushes the limits. It is lack of creativity.”

On Episode 6 of UFC 189 World Championship Tour Embedded, headliners Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor share the stage yet again at The Strand Theatre. Buoyed by the Boston fans, Ireland’s McGregor wields more insults and taunts at the featherweight champion. After being separated by UFC President Dana White at the press conference, the two are off to New York City for five more days of togetherness.
