Kron Gracie Plans to Compete in ADCC in 2015, Rules Out Return to IBJJF Tournaments

 

 

He is now focused on MMA , but competing in Jiu-Jitsu is still in Kron Gracie’s plans.

The 2013 ADCC Champion and BJJ black belt debuted in MMA with victory on December 2014 in Japan by armbar.

Kron revealed in an interview with TATAME, that he wants to participate again in ADCC this year, but ruled compete in the Worlds. According to Kron, the gold medal at the ADCC was, until now, the most important achievement of his career. Kron submitted all of his opponents to win the title of 77kg category of the 2013 ADCC, held in China. Gold came after Gracie apply a beautiful guillotine on Otavio Sousa in the final.

“I will continue dedicating myself to MMA in 2015, but fighting in the ADCC interests me, yes.. The Jiu-Jitsu Worlds does not interest me, I see fighters with a different goal from mine. They want to hold your sleeve, grab you and wait for time to pass. They just want to stall the game. I do not see this as a real fight, I see only as a strategy to win. For me, Jiu-Jitsu is much more than that, “

Kron’s victorious MMA debut

 

 

On competing again in Metamoris where he has fought in the tournament twice, beating Otavio Sousa – 1st edition – and Shinya Aoki – 2nd edition. Both wins came via submission with armbar and guillotine, respectively.

“I had a good time in Metamoris, but at the moment I’m not thinking about participating for a third time. My focus now is more on MMA. I’ll keep training hard, help Nick Diaz to fight against Anderson and wait for my next match, “
