Cyborg Pushing To Face Barnett @Metamoris 5: ‘After The Schaub Fiasco, They Owe Me One’

2013 ADCC absolute champion, Roberto Cyborg Abreu hopes to challenge the Metamoris heavyweight champion Josh Barnett at the next edition of the popular grappling event.

In an interview with Brazil’s Tatame magazine, the black belt talked about his motivation to face Barnett:

“I had already talked with Metamoris about this fight for the last event, but as I had full schedule with seminars and recovering from my fractured my hand, I could not pick the fight. I had no contact with anyone from Metamoris now, but I am moved to challenges, and to be able to defend the flag of Jiu-Jitsu in a tough fight like this, it would be an honor, ”

Barnett completely dominated Lister and submitted him with 10 secs left.

“I deeply respect Josh, who is a great fighter, very experienced and strong. He showed great superiority over Dean Lister. It would be a good challenge, especially after the (Brendan) Schaub fiasco. It would be a worthy fight to show my Jiu-Jitsu. The event owes me. ”

If the match happens, Cyborg believes that he can submit. He is confident in his Jiu-Jitsu to do the job:

“I think 20 minutes is more than enough for me to work my game. If it comes up, which I’m sure would happen, someone will tap. I believe in Jiu-Jitsu. I love my art and am eager to show the superiority of my art. “
