“The Ultimate Fighter 22: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber” pits American athletes against European counterparts.

Jiu-Jitsu black belt and 2009 ADCC bronze medalist, Ryan Hall is part of the cast of The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber which debuted on Wednesday, September 9th.

Hall is a world class grappler having medaled in the ADCC, IBJJF World Championships, Pan, Grapplers Quest and more. He is the founder of the 50/50 jiu-jitsu academy. He is known for his triangle, heel hook and 50/50 guard.
For the past few years, Hall has been training out of the Tristar gym in Montreal, Canada, home of former UFC welterweight champion Georges St Pierre. He has amassed a 4-1 MMA record.

Ryan has won his first 2 fights by submission.

Ryan Hall trained with Gunnar Nelson when he visited Iceland earlier this year. He also held a seminar in Iceland at Mjölnir.

In this interview Hall talks about having difficulty getting people to fight him, the level of BJJ in MMA and the future of BJJ in MMA.

For Ryan, BJJ is still a formidable tool in MMA.
He takes the example of Polish black belt Marcin Held who Hall doesn’t consider to be an elite BJJ player abut who has had a lot of success in Belator MMA using his Jiu-Jitsu skills especially leg lock game.

Hall stated:

New style of high level Jiu-Jitsu is still effective and the level of the athletes is higher than ever. The triangle is still good, half guard etc..
