Roger Gracie: “I Want To Face Ronaldo Jacare in Metamoris”

Last Friday (05), Roger Gracie , 10x black belt world Jiu-Jitsu champion Roger Gracie TKO’d James McSweeney with a kick at One FC.

This was Roger’s first ever knockout victory. So far he has gotten 5 submissions out of his 7 MMA wins.

At the moment, Roger is back in Brazil to enjoy a family vacation. The fighter intends to return to the One FC cage in March or April to show that his evolution standing did not stop there.

Roger has put Jiu-Jitsu aside for the moment to focus on MMA, however he revealed in an interview with TATAME, who he would like to face again in Metamoris – Last time, he had a draw with Marcus Buchecha at the event.

“I will go back. I talk to Ralek (Gracie, president of Metamoris) directly. He has called me to fight again. He called me this year, but I was training for my fight at One FC. I want to do Jiu-Jitsu, yes. I really enjoy competing in Jiu-Jitsu. If I could do a superfight like this, without having to make a specific camp and being too time consuming, it would be even better.”

And who he would like to face:

“It would be interesting with Ronaldo Jacare. He is a great fighter and is doing well in MMA as well. I fought many times with him in Jiu-Jitsu. He was one of the guys I faced the most. It would be nothing new to me. I have this great desire to face him, and I can not deny it would be interesting.”

The match would most probably be No Gi as both would have to take too much time to get re-adjusted to the Gi after so much training for MMA.
