2 Serbian Grapplers Win Metamoris Challenger in Impressive Fashion

 

At last weekend’s Metamoris Challenger in Los Angeles this Sunday, two Serbian Jiu-Jitsu players won their division in impressive fashion.
In the lightweight category, Aleksandar Rajacic and in the light heavyweight category, Danilo (Dan) Borovic!

With this victory, They both win $10,000 and have signed a professional contract with Metamoris for 3 more fights, and earned a spot in the 2016 International /challenger Championship.

Their success came thanks to victories in the two qualifying events. First, they passed the qualifications which were held in mid-September then, on the 4th of October at the regional competition, they also were victorious and qualified for the final.

In the finals, 8 athletes per weight division clashed on a LIVE broadcast in the Metamoris Studios in Los Angeles California.

Danilo (Dan) Borovic is a Serb that moved with his family to the USA when he was very young. He trains under BJJ legend Rodrigo ‘Comprido’ Medeiros. Dan started his Jiu-Jitsu journey a little over five years ago at a couple surrounding gyms near his home before finding his Coach Scott Huston and 360 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Since then, Dan has burst onto the competition scene making quite a name for himself in the process. He has won numerous titles at the local and regional levels, yet most recently made his mark on the world stage in 2013 (winning a silver and bronze medal). Dan’s passion for Jiu-Jitsu combined with his unique style and element of grace in which he brings to the Jiu-Jitsu mat has made him a stand out. His humble personality and desire to help others has also made him a very popular and well respected instructor. Dan is currently studying Business Administration at the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and plans to finish his bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee (UWM).

Aleksandar Rajacic is 31 years old, from Belgrade, Serbia ( instructor at Old School BJJ) and has been training for the past six months in Chicago at Chicago Mixed Martial Arts

Rajacic is no stranger to success in Europe . He was 3rd on IBJJF Europeans brown belt adult division in 2012, Fila European champion and World vice-champion, Naga advance No Gi champion.
