Jiu-Jitsu gear is everywhere. Yet, Epic Roll is in a league of its own.
Matt Wahlstrom, both a BJJ black belt and an entrepreneur, had a vision: design the ultimate Jiu-Jitsu gear – durable, comfy, and light…
But it wasn’t just about the top-notch BJJ gear – as his goal was, more than anything else, to develop a brand rooted in community values.

Wahlstrom wasn’t alone, though.
Teaming up with fellow Jiu-Jitsu enthusiasts Zoltan Bathory and Heather Grace Gracie, the brand grew.
Gracie, Carlos Gracie Sr.’s granddaughter, runs “Gracie Worldwide” and advocates for VETPAW.
Bathory, while known as the Five Finger Death Punch‘s guitarist, is also a Jiu-Jitsu black belt competitor.
Bathory shared his take on what sets Epic Roll apart:
In my travels, spotting a Jiu-Jitsu shirt or patch instantly connects me with someone.
It’s a unique Jiu-Jitsu bond; we chat, fist bump, and move on.Everyone in the community understands this bond. Epic Roll is a reflection of this camaraderie.
This community-centric focus is what drew Bathory in:
I started seeing Epic Roll gear being worn by Jiu-Jitsu guys everywhere.
Despite different backgrounds, they were all interconnected. It’s like being part of a special tribe within the larger community.

Such a unique brand essence caught Gracie’s and Bathory’s attention.
They partnered with Wahlstrom, further boosting the brand’s momentum:
An Epic Roll gear is not just apparel. It’s an identity. A shared understanding.
The brand’s influence is evident. Custom gear for Rayron Gracie, Jeff Glover, Chewjitsu, McDojo, Tom DeBlass, and Harley Flanagan? Check.
Dana White, Roger Gracie, Mike Beltran supporting by wearing the brand? Check.
But, as Bathory emphasizes, this is more than just branding:
It’s about creating a united community – the Epic Tribe.
A tribe that is about coming together, training, and bonding over Jiu-Jitsu.
In a sea of Jiu-Jitsu gear brands, Epic Roll stands tall. It’s not „just“ quality gear – it’s a movement.
