Europe’s premiere submission only event, Polaris 3 Jiu-Jitsu Invitational is set to take place in Poole, England on April 2 and will be available on pay-per-view.

The card has now been finalised and will feature the following matches.
1.The main card is outstanding and headed by Garry Tonon vs Rousimar Plahares.
Garry Tonon is on a quest to prove himself the best grappler on the planet. Although he has phenomenal all-around jiu jitsu, he’s particularly adept in the leglock game. Until recently only a select few really understood the leglock game, let alone could apply it well in competition. Marcin Held had a number of submission wins by leglock in high level MMA, and Garry took him on at Polaris 1. The legendary Japanese leglock master Masakazu Imanari, too, fell to the technicality of Tonon at Polaris 2.
Now Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares, the man who leglocked his way to notoriety in the 2011 ADCC and more recently in the UFC and WSOF, is here to stop Tonon in his tracks.
2.In the co-main event, Jake Shields is facing AJ Agazarm.
This will be a no gi bout. Jake Shields is an incredible grappler and MMA fighter with wins over top names in the sport, like Demian Maia, Robbie Lawler, Dan Henderson, and Carlos Condit. AJ Agazarm comes off two enthralling, fight-of-the-night worthy appearances at Polaris 1 and 2, and is a World No Gi Champion.
3. Augusto Tanquinho vs Eddie “Wolverine” Cummings
BJJ world champion Augusto Tanquinho Mendes publicly stated his desire to face leg lock master Eddie Cummings once again.
Tanquinho defeated Cummings in the quarter finals of ADCC 2015 by one negative point. Augusto ‘Tanquinho’ Mendes was able to shut down the hyped Eddie Cummings leg lock game in their quarter final match.
Cummings was on a tear of heel hook submission victories, having won EBI 4 and came into ADCC as a potential medalist. At ADCC, he submitted his first opponent with a heel hook in 30 secs but then faced BJJ world champion (Gi and No Gi) Augusto ‘Tanquinho’, who is an elite grappler. Mendes was able to beat Cummings on points due to his superior passing game and balance. Now we will see if Cummings will be able to submit the BJJ world champion in the Polaris format.
4. Gezary Matuda vs Laurence Fouillat
Fresh off her incredibly quick armbar submission over Michelle Nicolini, Gezary Matuda returns to Polaris to face Laurence Fouillat, who is one of the most decorated female grapplers in Europe and a world champion in her own right.
5. Gianni Grippo vs Bruno Frazatto
The next generation of American black belt vs one of the most consistent and decorated Brazilian competitors of the last decade.
6. Joao Miyao vs Yuki Sasa
Highly decorated Joao Miyao takes on Yuki Sasa, considered the top Japanese black belt, himself a world champion at brown belt
7. Darragh O Conaill vs Jonathan Satava
15 minutes, in the gi, submission only. Darragh O Conaill, Ireland’s best jiu jitsu export, takes on Jonathan Satava from Marcelo Garcia Academy in New York.
Both of these fighters have a reputation for a fast, exciting style of jiu jitsu and we can’t wait to watch the match.
8. Geo Martinez vs Dan Covel
Eddie Bravo’s black belt Geo Martinez will Dan Covel, a black belt under Phil Migliarese.
