15yr old Prodigy Nicky Ryan To Face BJJ World Champ in Superfight

Last weekend, Gordon Ryan’s 15 year old brother Nicky made the headlines when he took 3rd place at the North American trials of the ADCC, competing with adults.
Some of the big names that participated were Justin Rader, Jimmy Friedrich, Mansher Khera or Elliott Kelly. Two of the big headliners, Garry Tonon and Gordon Ryan had to pull out due to injury.

This was not the first time that he competed in adults divisions but this was the highest level competition yet. Nicky tore through his first opponents catching two heel hook submissions on the way. In the semi final he met the very experienced Jason Hayden, who defeated the teenager by armbar.

According to Flograppling, Nicky revealed that he will have a grappling superfight with purple belt world champion Kennedy Maciel who is the son of the legendary World Champion Rubens ‘Cobrinha’ Charles.

Gordon Ryan will be on the same card which will be held at Studio 540 on December 17th. You can watch the live stream right here on FloGrappling.com

Kennedy Maciel is a purple belt under his father BJJ legend Cobrinha. In 2014 he took gold in both PanAms and Worlds at blue belt and in 2016, he won the worlds at purple belt.

Nicky Ryan recently had his professional grappling superfight at the Canadian Kumite and submitted his 30 yr old opponent by heel hook.
