UFC’s Daniel Barez Assaulted At “BJJ Europa Cup” In Valencia

UFC’s Daniel Barez was assaulted and seriously injured during the recent “BJJ Europa Cup”, held in his hometown Valencia.

MMA analyst Marcel Dorff was quick to share the incident:

Dani Barez got assaulted yesterday. He got smacked in the face with a medal at the Europe BJJ Cup in Valencia (Multiple people reporting his former coach or teammate was involved in this).

Wish Dani a full and speedy recovery.

Unofficial information says that Barez found himself in a conflict with former coach known as “Titin” – some of them saying that Barez was hit with a medal by the older son of the mentioned coach.
Allegedly, Barez’s girlfriend was also attacked during this incident.

A few more pieces of information are circulating on Twitter about Barez’s former coach – Jose Luis Zapatero, known as “Titin” – a former Spanish MMA fighter.
On Twitter it’s been stated that Zapater is known as a “former neo-Nazi”, and he was also associated with the murder of a minor for which he allegedly served a prison sentence:

Former coach and teammates Marcel. Titín, his former coach “”used to be”” a nazi back in the day. It’s reported that it was his elder son who did it.
Dani’s girl was also hurt by them.
