Ronda Rousey’s First Statement After Knockout Loss

Holly Holm shocked Ronda Rousey and the world with a brutal second round head kick knockout to become the new UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday night.

Holm landed a vicious head kick to record one of the biggest upsets in mixed martial arts history.

“I have to say that everything that we worked on presented itself in the fight,” said Holm.

“Every kind of grab that she tried to get and clinch on the cage. I have not spent this much time in the gym before any fight in my life.

Rousey spent the night in hospital. Doctors ran tests for a concussion and sewed up her lip. There were rumours that Rousey’s jaw was bracken in three places but that was refuted by UFC president Dana White.

Dana White claimed a rematch between Rousey and Holm would “make sense” further down the line, although the former champion is set to take a break from the sport.

Ronda Rousey took to Instagram to tell everybody how she was:

‘I’m fine … I’ll be back’
