Ralek Gracie Ready For War: Gets Mohawk for Metamoris 7

Things are heating up ahead of Metamoris VII! Latest round of superfights has been scheduled for July 17th and it will be headlined (now) by Garry Tonon and Metamoris founder – Ralek Gracie!

Ralek Gracie is training hard and has even gotten himself a funky new warior haircut: a Mohawk!

The hairstyle has been in existence in many parts of the world for millennia.

When going to war, 16th-century Ukrainian Cossacks would shave their heads, leaving a long central strip. This haircut was known as a khokhol or chupryna and was often braided or tied in a topknot.

During World War II, many American GIs, notably paratroopers from the 101st Airborne Division wore mohawks to intimidate their enemies. It was also occasionally worn by American troops during the Vietnam War.

Robert De Niro’s character in the award winning movie Taxi Driver famously got a mohawk before going on a bloody rampage.

Ralek posted on his instagram his usual pseudo intellectual thoughts:

All we seek in every mission is a worthy opponent to test our will and honor our legacy against. The opponent will change, the honor will never.

“Lion Killer” Tonon has a mixed history with Metamoris in spite of Metamoris having contributed to his current notoriety. This type of relationship spawned many internet commentators declaring Tonon has no respect for Ralek to which he responded:

“If Ralek taps me I will get a G in a Gi tattooed on my left butt cheek and film it on Facebook Live. Because getting tapped by Ralek would be more humiliating than that anyway. I got nothing to lose”

And later both him and Ralek Gracie instagramed said comments:

This type of interaction caused many different comments raging from Jeff Glover’s simple hahha to a flurry of others now rooting for Ralek just to see the tattoo on Tonon as well as some scorned Metamoris fans who see him getting paid in metamoris gi patches.

Tonon took to facebook to explain his provocation was a response to Ralek’s interview:

“Words have been exchanged. Maybe a little more on my side now than on his. But Ralek originally released an interview explaining how there was no way it would be possible for me to leglock him which I thought was kinda weird. ”

You can watch the entire livechat here.

Tonon followed up again earlier today:

Many are arguing this match might even outdo Tonon’s famous bout against Palhares in terms of buzz.

Either way Ralek has been largely non responsive as he keeps posting pictures of his famous forefathers in what is with no doubt intense preparation for the bout.
