Nicky Rodriguez Names The Best Jiu-Jitsu Practitioner In MMA

Nicky Rodriguez is one of the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes today. He is a 2x ADCC silver medalist, as well as someone who has crossed paths with a number of mixed martial arts (MMA) athletes along the way…
Which, altogether, gives him a unique perspective on the world of submission grappling.

So, when he was recently asked who he thinks has the best grappling in MMA, Rodriguez had a straightforward answer: Gilbert Burns.
Here’s what he said:

Gilbert Burns, in my opinion, is somebody I’ve rolled with that has some of the best Jiu-Jitsu in the MMA world.

Gilbert has a lot of tenacity when he moves. He moves with bad intentions.
He’s hard to control, good guard passing, hard to submit, and you know, just hard to kill in general.

So, Gilbert Burns is definitely one of the best Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in the world of mixed martial arts.

Nicky Rodriguez had a spectacular UFC Fight Pass Invitational 5 performance.
Known for his formidable Body Lock technique, he used it to his advantage against Yuri Simoes and controlled the match from start to finish.

He even called out Gordon Ryan for a $50,000 bout at the end of the match.
