2 years ago BJJ Eastern Europe interviewed a new arrival on the BJJ scene of Serbia: Alesandro Nascimento, a 4th degree Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Brazil under Rolker Gracie (Gracie Humaita). In his interview he stated not knowing much about the BJJ community in the region (Serbia already has 12 well established BJJ black belts) and stated that he came here to spread Jiu-Jitsu in the region.
Everything started well when he arrived in Serbia. His team was slowly growing but he soon grew unhappy with his situation here. He started sexually harassing his female student. When she refused, he kicked her out of the academy. When the other students contested his decision, he insulted them, insulting Serbs and Serbia. Half of the class walked out in disgust. He was fired and then he stole the gym’s tatamis and tried to sell them. He then set his sights on Russia. His stay in Russia went even worse. Nascimento tried to build a team there and after a few months went back to Rio taking with him his student’s advanced 6 months tuition and owing more than 5,000 euros to his sponsors.
Alesandro Nascimento is now wanted in Serbia and Russia.
Russia’s Evgeniya Bondarenko wrote about his situation in an open letter to a Russian Facebook martial arts group warning anybody that would work with him in the future about his thieving ways:
“Dear friends!
Please read this message carefully and, if possible, do the repost .
We want to warn you about the professor of Brazilian jiu -jitsu, and warn to work with him in the future.
Alessandro Nascimento ( full name Alesandro de Oliveira Nascimento), school Gracie Humaita, 4th degree BJJ black belt.
At the end of 2012 he arrived from the Rio de Janeiro to Belgrade, Serbia at the invitation of the owner of the Brazilian Cultural Center . The center is actively developing Brazilian culture on the territory of Serbia. Capoeira , dance, Portuguese. And they are wanted to open BJJ school in te center. Alessandro was invited by the recommendation from Brazil. So no one would suspect anything bad about this man and invited him to work in Belgrade .
But problems was started soon . First, he distinguished himself as a very lazy person. He was fully confident that his black belt immediately lead to his class hundreds of students . Which of course did not happen. Secondly, he has repeatedly been caught in a lie about his past and current work . Conflicts began with students , truancy workouts. Center has invested in him a large sum of money on advertising, purchasing the tatami and equipment, sponsorship of shops selling equipment for martial arts , hall rental, assistance in renting an apartment and a visa .
But he refused to work more than he thought it necessary . Came into the gym only to the evening workout , all the free time spending riding a skateboard in the city, and organizing very few seminars and master classes. As a result, failed to collect the required number of students , and he could not get that income, calculated in Brazil. Instead to start working hard, he began to look for opportunities to change the country of residence and the translation of his work there. And he chose Russia .
He found people here who can help him get started and provide with space for job and apartment. Asked to arrange for him orientation workshop and came to Moscow for 20 days , while in Belgrade, saying that he was going for 6 days and only for a small workshop. During this time, he faced with problem that his visa was over and he accused people from Beograd that they had not provided him a visa (although they had prepared for him all the documents awaiting his return in a week) , and in Russia said that Belgrade does not help him and refuse to make a visa . Russian guys helped him with the extension of the Schengen visa and with the workshop .
20 days spending in Moscow without working, he lost many students in Belgrade and conflicts began with the Center for Brazilian culture there. While in Russia he skillfully lied that the Serbs exploit him and destroy his work.
Back in Belgrade, he told to the head of the Center that he was going to work in the Russian Federation, and told to other students that he would return in a month.
Also , he fraudulently taken out of the gym in Beograd tatami ( about 50m2 ), hoping to sell them , but this had not happened . Incidentally, the students were waiting for him to return in six months … And all this time, he lied to them that he would come in a month. Now they joined another school.
Arriving in Russia , he said that he has a very big job in Rio, 5 academies, hundreds of students . As his financial situation lets him to start from scratch in Russia . After a month of living in the Russian Federation became clear that he had no money even for food , and the work here is not yet risen to the desired level . The question : what is with your job in Rio, he replied that there had difficulty in his absence, and also he told that due to protests about FIFA World Cup in Rio banks were blocked accounts of many people including his .
In October, when he could not even pay for travel on the subway (all this time he opachivali room, apartment, food, travel by subway) he had to go to Rio ( buying a ticket on credit) . Before leaving , he said he would return in a month to settle all questions.
As you may have guessed , he never returned and did not return a penny of debt here. And also he took the money , which his students payed in Russia for his classes for half a year ahead and personal training.
The amount of his debt to the Russian Federation is 5000 euros. That’s not counting his debts in Serbia.
The question is, how it is possible that we started to work with that man? The fact that this person is able to lie perfectly ! And all these details revealed after his departure to Brazil !
Also revealed that he never had hundreds of students and academies ( except for a couple of gyms where he teaches children and their parents ) , never had the money ( he use the money of relatives) . The only truth about him – is his 4th dan BJJ .
Be careful when dealing with that man !
Currently he blocked all his accounts in Facebook, Viber and WhatsUpp from peoples from Russia who worked with him. So we are not able to contact with him now.”
The Serbian side of the story from Danijel Brajcic from Serbia’s Brazilian cultural center and ex student of Nascimento. He accuses him of sexual harassment of a female student, generally rude behavior and theft of tatamis:
“In the name of the Brazilian Culture Center , I have decided to come out with this statement regarding Nascimento situation.
We have been very quiet with our side of the story and didn’t want to harm anyone, but since Evgeniya’s letter us first and then in public, we have decided that this must be told.
Alesandro Nascimento is a plain fraud.
We brought him in Serbia from Rio after few recommendations from our friends from Rio.
Among his other bad manners, I will mention only some of them…
He had free apartment&food and yet he manage to display his host in a very bad manner in public, talking behind his back to his students that he is hungry and have no money .
His consultant found him a girl-translator who would drive him around the country , translate to him everything since he didn’t knew any other language except Portuguese.
She also spent some time taking him out to the city in the evenings and nights keeping very professional relationship…
He made sexual advances to the female translator and when she refused, he kicked her out of the academy.
-After that , 80% of the team left the mats since he didn’t want to change his decision and keep that girl in the club…
-she gave us her facebook password to see the conversations.
He got 15 days to leave the gym and club so he decided to steal 30sqm of mats from the gym to try and sell them.
He found friends who accept him as a leader of the team and yet he manage to confront them to one against other because of his lies…
He called us Serbian mother fuckers who don’t know how to respect him so he will teach us proper way…and he tell that in front of 2 translators present who confirmed his words.
He got kicked out from our academy and later opened his other club with guys who followed him .
He went to Russia and cheat his fiancée for 5000eur and also left those new guys there without the coach..
This is just a few thing people need to know but there were many more and among them there is some of things that is t0o embarrassing to mention because it is funny how we believe him and how we got screwed up by a fraud..
Only thing we are sorry about is that we let a fraud separate us as a people … But everything happens with a reason I guess… Now we have much stronger team spirit in our club.
