Danielle Kelly Beats Jessa Khan, Wins ONE Women’s Atomweight Submission Grappling World Title

Danielle Kelly has avenged her loss from Jessa Khan that took place back in 2021…
By beating her for the inaugural ONE Women’s Atomweight Submission Grappling World Title, at the last night’s ONE Fight Night 14!

It was an exciting match, with Kelly pressing Khan from the get-go and forcing her to jump Closed Guard.
Khan attacked from there, at one point sweeping Kelly and taking her back (at around 10 minutes into the match). However, despite having the positional advantage, Khan wasn’t able to really threaten Kelly with a submission from there.

This led to Kelly quickly escaping the position and scrambling to a Kneebar/Toe Hold variation. This put the 27-year-old up on the scorecards.
So, as Khan continued to attack from guard for the rest of the match, Kelly knew that she had to keep her defense crisp in order to take the win.

Knowing that she was down on points, Khan picked up the pace and looked to establish a dominant position, as well as went for a Leg Lock in the final seconds of the match.
However, her attempts weren’t sufficient to gain valuable points.

In the end, Kelly emerged victorious – with a historic, first-ever ONE Women’s Atomweight Submission Grappling World Champion title to her name!
