Baret Yoshida Is The First ADCC Hall Of Famer – To Compete At ADCC Trials

Baret Yoshida has just written his name in the book of grappling history yet again – this time by becoming the first participant to compete at ADCC Trials…
After already becoming an ADCC Hall of Famer.

At the ripe age of 48, Yoshida took to the mats at the ADCC North American East Coast Trials 2024 on March 30th.
He won his opening round match by swiftly submitting 18-year-old competitor Jayden Autry, with an Anaconda Choke.

This victory propelled Yoshida into the third round of the tournament, where he faced CJ Murdock.
Despite his valiant efforts, Yoshida lost to Murdock – as his opponent secured an 8-point lead, before submitting him with an Armbar.

Nonetheless, Yoshida’s mark on the sport remains unaparelled.
He has made his ADCC debut back in 1999, long before Murdock even embarked on his Jiu-Jitsu journey and Autry was even born.

Yoshida also holds a remarkable record of competing at more ADCC World Championship events than anyone else – with nine appearances spanning from 1999 to 2017.
