Tim Spriggs’ Infamous Snap Down ‘Trainwreck’ Seoi Nage

The snap down Eri Seoi Nage throw is used heavily by Rodolfo Vieira, Tim Spriggs, Alain Pozo and British UK BJJ phenom River Dillon.

Tim Spriggs shows his set up which is slightly different. He calls it the ‘Train wreck’. He goes for a Kouchi foot sweep, forcing his opponent to take a step back, then he covers the opponent’s shoulder with his lapel to unbalance him. When he throws, he drops on one knee.

Spriggs said on his blog:

I started drilling this as a blue belt in college, I started hitting it as a purple belt. It has carried me all the way to black belt.

Carlson Gracie Essex (UK) head instructor and BJJ balck belt Alain Pozo shows us how he does it.
Time to drill this!
