It’s not every day a giant man dojo storms your gym – but this is just what happened to bjj heroe Robson Moura a while back at his Robson Moura BJJ HQ Tampa, FL, United States.
Robson Moura had a guy walk into his school and challenge anyone there to fight for $20. Robson said he would fight him, and beat him in 5 minutes – and then the guy would have to sign up as a new student!
Always classy, always humble – Robson schools the guy without hurting him.
Moura just talked about it on the lastest episode of Evo podcast. Moura addressed internet comments saying that it was all for publicity:
“I’ve been competing top level. I fought the toughest guys in jiu-jitsu. ” he continues ” I fought MMA in Japan. I don’t need this kind of publicity for my school and myself as well.”
Moura was originally at home but Wife asked him to intervene when the “challenger” wouldn’t leave for 45 minutes.
He said to one of Moura’s black belts I give you 20 $ for 20 minutes of fights.When Moura heard that he was angered and approached them. He instantly got the same offer. After a bit of a talking to the challenger announced “You have no idea how strong I am”
Robson said he would fight him, and beat him in 5 minutes – and then the guy would have to sign up as a new student! Guy was fairly reluctant about enrolling.
But he wasn’t verbally aggressive. Standing at 306 pounds the challenger signed the waver.
Challenger then locked himself into a bathroom which was of some concern to Moura. It was a consideration whether he would produce a weapon of some sort
Then the now famous fight ensued. And the next day the guy would return because he wasn’t happy with how popular the video had become.
