Gracie Breakdown: How To Use Jiu-Jitsu When Attacked by a Mountain Lion

Last week, Travis Kauffman, 31, a trail jogger in Colorado successfully defended himself against a mountain lion that attacked him from behind.

Kauffman suffered some facial lacerations and he was able to get himself to a local hospital.

He fought the big cat for several minutes before strangling it to death. He detailed the entore event in a press conference.

Rear naked choke is often referred to as mata leao – meaning ‘lion killer’ in Portuguese. In this case Kauffman didn’t use a RNC, but he stepped on the animal’s throat for 2 mins.
