England’s Rugby Player Broke Leg Crosstraining Judo

Rugby is widely considered one of toughest sports in the world. Earlier this month the coach of England’s national rugby team got them cross-training judo!

The effort has backfired in a spectacular fashion! One of the back-row forwards fractured his right fibula. The gentlemen below carrying the ball, Sam Jones is the player in question.

This is not the first time in recent years that England have suffered an injury as a result of trying to expand their training . In the build-up to the 2011 World Cup Ben Youngs got knee ligament damage while wrestling.

And in addition to this another player tore his quad muscle (albeit post judo camp)!

Perhaps crosstraining swimming would be easier on the body? No?
