Dana White: Nothing Harder Then Getting Diaz Brothers Into The Octagon Right Now

Sometime last week Nate Diaz declared himself “put on the shelf” by the UFC – at that point he started pursuing a career in boxing.

But the UFC president Dana White claims he offered fights to both him and his brother and has yet to hear back.

Nick Diaz reportedly turned down fights against both Robbie Lawler and Demian Maia.

“We just offered Nate Diaz a fight, and we’re waiting to hear back from him, so we’ll see,” White reportedly toldMMA Junkie. “These guys say they want a fight – I offered Nick Diaz two fights. He turned down two fights. I offered him Robbie Lawler. Robbie Lawler accepted the fight. Then I offered him Demian Maia. Nick Diaz turned down two fights. And then we just offered Nate a fight.”

Demian Maia is quite uninterested in the bout as well, aiming for his title shot.

Nick Diaz is coming off of a long suspension and hasn’t fought in over 2 years. His last win was against the recently un-retired BJ Penn back in 2011.

While many numbers are mentioned in various reports Dana White confirmed the Diaz brothers are some of the toughest negotiators:

“The most difficult to get into the octagon? Right now, it’s the Diaz brothers – right here, right now,” he said. “But throughout history? I don’t know.”
