CM Punk Compares Himself To Ben Askren: Not Fighting Logan Paul

CM Punk was a huge joke back when he got signed to the UFC. Everyone was seriously questioning the move – however in spite of his fighting record, now standing at 0-2, Punk proved to be a worthwhile investment resulting in paperview buys.
This is perhaps one of the reasons UFC hasn’t cut him yet and he’s even still getting tested by USADA.

So, I’m still training, of course, I love it,” Brooks told MMA Fighting. “I was just out in Vegas at the UFC Performance Institute. That place is amazing. I wish it was around when I was 20 years old, but that’s another story. Yeah, I am (still on the UFC roster). I still have to pee in cups. Huge fan of wasting my time peeing in a cup.”

This is of course a huge surprise given that UFC hasn’t shied away from cutting back lately – most notably Sage Northcutt:

“We let Sage go,” White told UFC Unfiltered (via MMAnytt.com). “Sage is young and Sage needs some work. Let him get some work in some other organizations and we will see where this kid ends up in a couple of years. Maybe we will pick him back up again.”

And this is where another celeb – one CM Punk might have a shot against comes in – Logan Paul. When prompted about the youtube celebrity Brooks replied:

“I’m not fighting Logan Paul,” Punk told MMA Fighting in a recent interview. “I think this is one of the avenues where people will be like, ‘I don’t even know who Logan Paul is.’ Logan Paul is apparently a popular guy, but it’s not in any kind of avenue that I drive my car on. The only thing I know about him is he’s the guy who filmed the dead body in the Japanese suicide forest, which is don’t get me started on that, because I’ll say a bunch of stuff and then I’m sure somebody will make a YouTube video about it.”

“My entire life, before I ever got into MMA, for some reason I’m like this magnet. I don’t know what the deal is. Maybe it’s because, like Ben Askren, I just live unapologetically, I’m like honest to a fault and I’m just myself and I don’t really care. When you fight somebody, when you enter into a fight camp, you have to spend a lot of time thinking about that person. Maybe some guys don’t, maybe some guys focus on themselves,” he added.

“But you still have this person in front of you. And I’m not into sharing that much of my time and my headspace and my life with somebody that did something that I feel is so reprehensibly disrespectful to the people of Japan, who I love. They’ll always have a special place in my heart. So, no. I’m not fighting him. I have no interest to.”

Logan Paul notably called out Dillon Danis in recent time but he shied away from jiu jitsu and clarified he hasn’t done the gentle art at all.
