Biting, Eye Gouging & Groin Shots: Effective or Self Defense Scam?

Biting, Eye Gouging & Groin Shots: Effective or Self Defense Scam?

Biting, eye gouging and groin shots:

It always amuses me when “martial artists” talk about biting, eye gouging, groin shots etc. They act as if it’s some deadly techniques that only they can do. I think many “martial artists” hide behind “secret techniques” or dirty fighting to cover up their lack of skill.

Like Bas Rutten Sensei said, who do you think can land a groin shot better? A highly trained martial artist who works on precision and spars frequently or the out of shape and overweight “Sensei” who hasn’t really trained in years. I see it all the time where martial artists (often times traditionalist) want to make fun of the UFC fighters and say that it’s just a sport, and the traditionalist act like they would have a chance in a real fight because of no rules.

Self Defense vs Combat Sports: What Is More Effective in the REAL World

Again, the UFC fighter can do all the dirty tricks you can do but they can probably do it better. Stop fooling yourself and others and just go train hard like ALL the masters who came before us. To learn the true secrets of martial arts, you must put in hard work and sacrifice, there is no other way.

Extremely high level Brazilian Jiujitsu and mma fighter, Professor Tom DeBlass had this to say:

“To the street fighters that think Jiu-Jitsu can’t be used in a street fight.
Perhaps you forget that we also have teeth to bite your face off when we mount you.
Perhaps you forget we also half fingers to fish hook your cheek off your face when you are totally helpless.
Perhaps you forget we can also pick up that bottle or stick and smash your head in.
We can do everything a “street fighter” can do. It’s simply a choice. Personally I’d rather eat someone’s face as a last resort in a street confrontation, but remember…it’s a choice.
I’m also confident a well conditioned Jiu-Jitsu black belt can win 99% of street fights without throwing a single punch.” – Professor Tom DeBlass
