Jon Jones, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, recently showcased his grappling skills in a video posted on Instagram. In the video, Jones rolls with ADCC world champion Gordon Ryan, demonstrating his proficiency in wrestling and jiu-jitsu.

Jon Jones’ Grappling Background

Jones has been involved in grappling since his college wrestling days. He achieved success as a junior college national champion in Greco-Roman wrestling at Iowa Central Community College before transitioning to MMA. Throughout his MMA career, Jones has consistently demonstrated his expertise in wrestling and clinch work. He effectively employs trips, throws, and takedowns to bring opponents to the ground, where he utilizes his long reach and ground and pound techniques to overwhelm them. Jones is also skilled at controlling opponents against the cage, employing knees and short punches to wear them down.
