Powerlifting is an extraordinarily tough sport. Athletes that train it gain great strength, that could be later easily transferred to the skills on the mats!

In this video we see how a 180 lbs bjj black trains with a 300lbs bjj blue belt powerlifter. Notice how calm and technical he black is at all times. He is always 2-3 steps ahead of he blue belt and everything he does is for a reason. The whole time he is the one that is leading the action and forcing a reaction from his opponent.
