[WATCH] MMA Fighter DQ’d From Boxing Match – After Takedown & Brutal Ground-And-Pound

In an unexpected turn of events at Rocky Boxing Night in Koszalin, Poland, MMA veteran Marcin Sianos found himself disqualified from a boxing match against Artur Bizewski.

The disqualification came after Sianos reverted to his MMA instincts, performing a takedown and delivering a ground-and-pound knockout that (surprise) violated the rules of boxing.

Sianos, who holds a record of 8-7 in MMA and was making his boxing debut, was facing off against the undefeated boxing prospect Bizewski (9-0 in boxing).
The match took a dramatic turn in the second round when Sianos, after throwing a series of punches, executed a Double Leg takedown.

He then secured a Mount position and unleashed a ground-and-pound elbow attack, leaving Bizewski incapacitated on the mat.
Needless to say, drama ensued after, after Sianos was disqualified.

Check it out on the videos below:

Sianos posted a lengthy statement on his social media, apologizing for his actions.
Here’s what he said (translated from Polish):

My deepest apologies for my unsportsmanliness in the ring…
There is no explanation for this, it is reprehensible and I clearly deserved disqualification.

Throughout the difficult preparation period, a similar situation has never occurred during any of the sparring matches.
I didn’t knock anyone out or elbow anyone, we were training pure boxing.

I myself can’t explain my behavior yesterday.
