UFC’s Conor McGregor “Blamed” For Death Of A €1,500 Parrot

David Dunne, a passionate parrot-keeper, has come forward with a distressing story – blaming the death of his parrot on UFC’s Conor McGregor’s construction project in Dublin.

In a story originally reported by The Sun, Dunne – the residing adjacent to the construction site – recounted the traumatic experience of his parrots, particularly the €1,500 lutino conure parakeet that succumbed to a heart attack.
This incident he attributes directly to the disruptive noise from the site’s drilling activities:

The noise from the drilling killed one of my birds.

There was a test drill and the noise from the drill caused one of my birds to have a heart attack.
It has caused us a lot of grief and stress.

Despite reaching out to McGregor’s company, McGregor Sports and Entertainment, Dunne’s pleas for compensation have been met with unfulfilled promises:

I rang and told McGregor’s company about it.
They came around and saw the bird dead and said: “Sorry, sorry about that, we’ll do something, we’ll do something.”

I rang about it again and they said they would replace the bird, they said they would compensate for the loss of the bird and they didn’t.
When push came to shove, they basically didn’t do anything.

It’s the emotional grief that hurts as much as the financial one:

I actually imported the bird that died over from Holland. I saved up and worked overtime to get this bird.
I bought her as a young chick and waited on it for nearly two years for the bird to get ready for breeding.

Then the drilling happened, it died and I lost out. It was €1,500.
It was a devastating blow to lose it.
