UFC Fight Pass Invitational 7 has just announced that its main event will be featuring a showdown between Nick Rodriguez and Mason Fowler!

It was all the way back at the UFC Fight Pass Invitational 3 that Mason Fowler won an extremely tough (inaugural) absolute grand prix bracket.
He won that title in a hard-fought final match against Luke Griffith, ultimately prevailing by ride-time in EBI overtime.
Nick Rodriguez was absent from the bracket, because he was competing against Gordon Ryan in a superfight – a bout that he narrowly lost.
However, Rodriguez returned to compete in the promotion’s second absolute grand prix at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 4, winning the opening match by ride-time in EBI overtime.
He then secured two consecutive wins via submission in EBI overtime to claim the second title.
Fowler did not compete at this event, however.
So, this bout in particular represents the first matchup between two UFC FPI absolute champions…
Which means that a large chunk of their reputation is at stake!
