Nate Diaz Reveals Why He Stopped Eating Meat

Nate Diaz hasn’t been eating meat for quite some time. He does eat eggs and seafood, but he’s been away from meat for years now…
Why, though?

Well, Nate found out that this sort of a diet suits his body way better.
As he emphasized in a recent podcast episode with Bradley Martyn, he’s never done a blood test to check his “results” – but he feels better without meat:

I just know what I feel. I do everything by feel. Like, what feels better.

I loved eating meat, I was grabbing on burritos all day long. That was my thing.
[But] I started cutting weight and I was, like, doing everything I could. I was running all day, working out all day, on a diet… Exhausted.

His brother, Nick, then jumped in with prime advice:

My brother was, like: “Quit eating meat. Quit eating meat and cheese and you’ll start shedding weight.”

So I did that and I started shedding weight. I made weight.

Nate would follow through his “no meat and no dairy” diet until the match.
And then, after the match, he would go back to eating meat.

But he wouldn’t feel so well afterwards:

My stomach would get all jacked up. And then, they [the training team] would be like: “Yo, we’re coming over tomorrow, and we’re running at 10am.”
And I would be, like, alright cool. But I’d get up, like, [holding his stomach] man I don’t feel like running.

I would go on a run anyway, but I would feel like sh*t.

So, after some time of going back and forth with eating and not eating meat, Nate opted out of it completely.
And he feels much better that way:
