Veteran mixed martial arts fighter Edson Drago was recently arrested for carrying 22lbs of crack and cocaine,Santiago Brazil. MMA Fighting first reported the arrest.
Drago is most famous for the time he spent fighting in promotions like PRIDE and Cage Rage. He also spent some time at Shooto Europe and Jungle Fight.
MMA Fighting confirmed SBT media reports regarding these allegations and what happened before the arrest:
“Longtime MMA veteran Edson Draggo was arrested by the Brazilian Federal Highway Police in Santiago, Brazil, with 22 pounds of cocaine and crack.”
Draggo was arrested on Monday afternoon with drugs hidden underneath the rear bumper and inside the dashboard of a white Fiat Siena. The 43-year-old attempted to escape but was caught by the police. According to the police, the drugs are worth around $380,000,”

This was not Drago’s first arrest as he was arrested multiple times on various allegations. These allegations include corruption, kidnapping and illegal possession of weapons, and theft.
According to Brazilian national legislation, Drago risks 1 to 4 years in prison.
