Two of the very best and most hyped American grapplers will be facing each other in a No Gi grappling superfight at Grappling Industries tournament on August 13th

Grappling Industries CEO David Agguzi has announced a super fight between Keenan Cornelius and Gordon Ryan for the August 13th Grappling Industries tournament at Baruch College in New York City. The super fight between the two high level American grapplers will be a NoGi, no-time limit, submission-only match. The super fight will be streamed live online with details coming soon.
Keenan Cornelius from team Atos in San Diego, California and is considered one of the top American black belts. He has an impressive resume:
- World Jiu Jitsu Champion (2013 brown, 2012 purple weight & absolute)
- World No Gi Champion (2014 black, 2012 brown weight & absolute, 2011)
- IBJJF Pro League Champion (2014)
- Five Grappling ‘Round Robin’ Champion (2013)
- BJJ Kumite Champion – Gi and No Gi (2012 brown)
- Pan American Champion (2015, 2014 black, 2013 brown weight & absolute, 2012 purple weight & absolute)
- European Open Champion (2013 brown weight & absolute, 2012 purple weight & absolute)
- Brazilian National Champion (2012 purple weight & absolute)
- ADCC Bronze Medallist (2013 weight & absolute)
20 year old Gordon Ryan came in as a late replacement at this year’s EBI 6 heavyweight open weight invitational and to the surprise of many, won the whole tournament submitting Yuri Simoes in the semi final and Rustam Chsiev in the final. Ryan is a recently promoted black belt under Garry Tonon, and is part John Danaher’s ‘death squad’.
He also has an impressive resume:

- Newaza Challenge Champion (2015)
- Grappling Industries Tournament Champion (2016 absolute)
- Pan American No-Gi Championship 3rd Place (2014 purple)
Grappling Industries is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission-Wrestling tournament based in the USA, Cnada and Australia. The tournaments follow Round Robin formatting meaning that all adult competitors get 4 fights and all kids competitors get 3 fights just for signing up for a division, that means if you compete in both Gi and NoGi you could get 8 plus fights. This allows you to fight so many different people that you have never competed against before, giving you the experience you deserve. The round robin brackets are followed by a playoffs between the top competitors in the bracket just like professional sports do, this allow competitors to fight as much as possible in a professional atmosphere.
The Grand Prizes at their tournaments are one of a kind, they include Grand Prize all paid trips to the biggest tournaments in the world going on to allow these winners to fight against the world’s best while making a name for themselves.
