IBJJF 50.000$ Pro League GP Complete Star Studded Card Announced

 

Las Vegas IBJJF Pro League Grand Prix is set to take place on July 9th in Las Vegas. The biggest names in BJJ, battle it out for the grand prize of $40,000 – 1st place and $10,000 – 2nd place.

The GP IBJJF Pro League 2016 will be a part of the 2016 American Nationals, which will take place inside the UFC Fan Expo

There have been several changes on the roster from the initially announced names three weeks ago. Initially announced names Bernardo Faria and Romulo Barral are officially out.

Here is the final card:

Mohamed Aly

The young Mohamed Aly is one of the most exciting young black belts on the circuit who, on a good day, can beat anybody.

Bruno Bastos

Fighting out of Midland, Texas, Bastos is one of the biggest names among the 8 man roster, being the owner and chief of his own association, the Bruno Bastos Association.

Xande Ribeiro

Seasoned veteran Xande Ribeiro needs no introduction. He’s pretty much won it all. The two time ADCC champion will no doubt be an exciting competitor at the event.

Leo Nogueira 

Noguiera was a standout at the 2016 World Championship, having taken gold in the Black Belt Adult Male Super Heavy weight division. He will be filling in for teammate, and 4X World Champion, Bernardo Faria.

Joao Gabriel Rocha

The 2x Brazilian National Champion is looking for redemption, after his loss against Buchecha in the Black Belt Adult Male Ultra Heavy weight Semi-Final at the 2016 World Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship.

Felipe Preguica Pena

Felipe Preguica got the spot instead of Romulo Barral who felt he had to leave the card due to injury. Felipe Preguica will fill in for Barral who was supposed to perform one of the last times before retiring from high level competition scene.

Marcus Buchecha Almeida
Marcus “Buchecha is looking to extend his winning streak after having placed 1st in both the Black Belt Adult Male Ultra Heavy weight division and the Open weight class division at the 2016 World Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship.

Andre Galvao

Andre won this year’s world championship’s at heavyweight defeating Jackson Souza.
