Ffion Davies Promotes Her First BJJ Black Belt – Rosa Walsh

Ffion Davies has just promoted her first BJJ black belt!
Rosa Walsh, top Irish athlete, was promoted to the black belt rank.

Davies shared the awesome news via social media:

A huge honour to promote Rosa Walsh today, who is more of a sister than a friend at this point.
Can’t wait to watch her shine at this new belt, and so excited to see what’s to come.

It’s a difficult journey for anyone but watching her overcome every moment of self doubt and persevere onwards has been nothing short of inspiring, along with every incredible win.

This also happens to be my first black belt I’ve ever awarded, with permission from my professor JT Torres, Essential BJJ.

Rosa Walsh is one of the most successful BJJ competitors in the UK.
For example, back during the 2022 ADCC Open, she put on a phenomenal performance and won the under 65kg division – pushing through tough opponents, such as Nathalie Ribeiro and teenage phenom Helena Crevar.

Walsh was happy about the promotion as well:

Never thought this day would come for a number of reasons.
This has been the hardest thing l’ve ever done in my entire life yet it feels like just the start.

Jiujitsu gifted me a rock that no matter the ups and downs in life never ceased.
