Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson Wins IBJJF Masters World Championship Title

Demetrious Johnson is a ONE Championship flyweight world title holder, as well as an ex-UFC flyweight champion…
And he’s just won gold at the IBJJF Masters World Championships in Las Vegas!

Considered by many to be the greatest flyweight MMA athlete in the history of the sport, “Mighty Mouse” took some time away from the cage to test his skills on the mat.
So, the brown belt headed to the Las Vegas Convention Center in order to compete at the IBJJF Masters World Championship. He competed in the Master 2 division, devised for athletes who are 35+ years old.

Johnson won six matches, including a 10-0 domineering win in the final bout:

Mighty Mouse made headlines a few days ago as well, when it was revealed that he’s accepted a submission grappling match against Bradley Martyn – bodybuilder who outweighs Johnson by more than 100lbs:

It’s funny, you know. He’s 265 pounds, he’s a bodybuilder, so obviously he has got the weight advantage.

But at the end of the day, that’s the beautiful thing about grappling.
It’s not about weight, it’s about technique, and we’re going to try to grapple.

I’m busy doing other things right now, but when I get back from all my vacation I’m going to fly down to Calabasas and we’re gonna roll, man.
I’m gonna roll him up.
