Craig Jones On Sitting Next To Strickland During Du Plessis Chaos: “He Said BJJ Doesn’t Work”

Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis fought it out in the stands during UFC 296
And Craig Jones was seated right next to Strickland as it all took place.

In a recent El Segundo Podcast episode, Jones shared what it was like to be seated next to Strickland during the whole thing.
What’s more, he revealed that Sean Strickland started filming live via Instagram, during the Tony Ferguson vs. Paddy Pimblett fight.

He switched the camera to Jones and said:

Guys, tell him, Jiu-Jitsu just doesn’t work. It’s fake, it doesn’t work.
So, his presence was already pretty chaotic.

Jones explains that Gilbert Burns and his family was one row away from Strickland – and immediately after that was the row in which Dricus Du Plessis was seated.
Strickland makes a “gun shooting” gesture towards Du Plessis, some words get exchanged between the two, and then chaos ensues:

And then, literally, Sean asks Gilbert to get his wife and kids out of the way. Super polite…
He legit asked them: “Could you move across?”

And then just pounces on Dricus and starts throwing 6-12 elbows.
And the whole time I’m in disbelief what’s happening.

Craig didn’t take the whole thing too seriously. He didn’t even back away while the scuffle took place – but he stood nearby, just watching it unfold:

We were just laughing, it wasn’t that violent. No one took any damage or anything, it was just hilarious.
