It’s now official: B-Team Jiu-Jitsu has announced that their team will replace New Wave Jiu-Jitsu at the Quintet 4 event.
The tournament will take place on September 10, 2023, and B-Team will bring on 5 prominent grapplers: Craig Jones, Nicky Rodriguez, Nicky Ryan, Jacob Rodriguez, and Jozef Chen.

Three other elite teams will compete at the tournament: 10th Planet, Polaris, and Team Sakuraba.
B-Team Jiu-Jitsu wasn’t originally supposed to compete at the event, but they have taken the New Wave Jiu-Jitsu team’s place – when John Danaher pulled the entire team out of the event.
Here is what Sakuraba and his colleague, Stewart Fulton, had to say about New Wave pulling out:
I just got word from John Danaher about New Wave; Team New Wave told us they can’t make it to the event.
To all the fans that were looking forward to seeing them, I offer my sincere apologies.John Danaher tells us Team New Wave can’t participate, or one of their members can’t.
Yeah, it’s five people but one of their team couldn’t make it so the whole team is out.
