Powerlifting Legend Competes at White Belt Level at Worlds – Wins 2nd Place

Jiu jitsu is all about the little guy defeating the big guy but nobody can turn away when a 350 lbs powerlifting legend enters their bracket.

Chad Wesley Smith is a top 10 ranked powerlifter of all time and all around a powerhouse having won won 2 collegiate National Championships in the Shot Put. Since Juggernaut’s founding, Chad has gone on to be one of the most decorated strength athletes and coaches of the current era with accomplishments including 1055kg/2325# Total in Wraps, 1010kg/2226# Total in Sleeves, 2012 North American Strongman Champion which earned him his Pro Card and coaching numerous top athletes

“IBJJF Novice (White Belt) Worlds is in the books. Took 2nd in the Ultra-Heavy Division. Won here by Americana but lost in the finals. Improvements for sure from my last competition where I got beat twice. Fun to take on new challenges for sure.”
