32 year old Nate Diaz has a fight record of 19 wins and 11 losses. Still he hasn’t fought since August of last year when he suffered a decision loss from Conor McGregor.
Several reports have floated around since offering the Diaz brothers and Nate specifically many different names.
Still Dana White recently insisted Woodley wasn’t on the table:
A denial which Nate Diaz wasn’t too fond of captioning it:
“Shutup bit*h.
Your both thirsty ….
And why is u lying 😎”
The idea of Woodley v Diaz was briefly floated around and managed to get plenty of people hyped for the event. However since the deal has fallen through Woodley has opted to have shoulder surgery instead:
“Delusional Dana constantly demotes me as a fighter when the job is to promote his fighters, especially champions,” Woodley said in a statement to MMA Fighting. “Why would I get in camp, and why would Nate give a $15 million purse request if there was no fight? It’s obvious they haven’t found their blockbuster headliner yet. This was a reality, and they know it. The inability to come to financial terms with Nate killed it,” concluded Woodley.
“I am gonna go ahead and undergo the surgery on my shoulder. I decided a couple days ago,” Woodley said. “It’s gonna be a bummer, but at the end of the day if nobody want to step up and fight somebody that’s not even 100 percent in their one shoulder, then I might as well get my shoulder to where it should be so I can continue [to defend] my belt with a little less risk.”
