Diaz has been on a sabbatical since engaging in a duology with Conor McGregor back at UFC 202.
Tuseday Diaz announced his intent to step back into the octagon:
Sick of sitting around waiting for you f**kers to do shit there’s no excitement in this fight shit step your games up I’ll see u around may,June.
Sincerely The Real Champ 🖕🏼
However since then things took an interesting turn. When Holloway was forced to back out of UFC 222 title defense against Frankie Edgar LA Times confirmed Nate Diaz might be gearing to save the day.
According to the LA Times’ Lance Pugmire, Nate is ready to do it.
The best option to fill in for the @BlessedMMA void at #UFC222 is @NateDiaz209 and he tells me he’s 💯 interested….make it happen @ufc

Diaz has previously thrown around a $20 million price tag to step back into the Octagon, a number he probably couldn’t even getfor a Conor McGregor trilogy fight.
