Jake Paul On Training Jiu-Jitsu: “It Seems Pretty Easy to Me”

Every so often, here at BJJEE we come across news that aren’t about Jiu-Jitsu…
But that are super exciting in the world of combat sports as a whole.

For example, the news that a boxing match between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz has been booked!

The 185lbs bout will take place on August 5, 2023, and will consist out of 8 rounds.

Jake Paul has expressed his interest in challenging Conor McGregor after his upcoming boxing match with Nate Diaz in August.
While Paul continues to make a name for himself in the boxing world, he has also secured a deal with the PFL. In an interview with talkSPORT, Paul reveals his desire to compete against Conor McGregor in the cage following his bout with Diaz.
Paul stated:
“I’ll do MMA. I’m not afraid. I’ve wanted to do that my whole career. [I have] a wrestling background. All I’d have to learn is some some kicks and jiu-jitsu, which seems pretty easy to me.”

Jake Paul started training Jiu-Jitsu with BJJ black belts Mike Perez and Mo Jassim:

In preparation for his potential MMA career, Paul has already commenced training with UFC middleweight Bo Nickal.
Paul is currently anticipated to make his MMA debut in 2024, and his team is actively searching for an opponent who would provide favorable circumstances for him.

Jake Paul’s brother Logan, was training Jiu-Jitsu a few weeks ago with UFC champion Volkanovski and shared his experience grappling with him:

“Man, you [Alexander Volkanovski] are so strong and dominant, and you put me in a body lock and I felt like you could have tightened your leg so much… Literally [could have] split me in half. I’m not doing BJJ again. Paul added, “We were drilling this body triangle… And he goes, ‘Oh, my legs are short and I don’t really do the body triangle often’… And when we actually go to do it, he literally almost kills me.
