Like most of us around the world, you’ve had to endure many months of quarantine where you couldn’t train Jiu-Jitsu. Your regular fitness routine of drilling and rolling suddenly vanished and you lost all your bearings… Many people enjoy Jiu-Jitsu because it gets them in amazing shape and it burns so many calories. They also often get away with eating unhealthy foods without getting fat because of how intense their Jiu-JItsu training is.

So what happens when you spend 3 months not training? You get fat….

There are many things you can do to get ready to hit the mats once again. Having a date in mind can serve as a goal that can motivate you to change your quarantine lifestyle from lazy and unhealthy to spartan like.

Kettlebells will make you stronger and will also work your cardio.

Going for runs can help your conditioning as well.

the important things is to pace yourself once you get back to the Jiu-Jitsu academy. You may come back stronger and heavier but it will still take you 2-3 weeks to get your BJJ conditioning up to pint.
