Grappling Central Podcast Interviews Alexander Trans

Alexander Trans got together with our favorite jiu-jitsu podcast – The Grappling Central to discuss everything from how he started to changing teams and unique teaching experience he’s had in the United Arabian Emirates.

Trans was born in Denmark and as such his experience is slightly different from competitors who have started in Brazil or even the USA. He initially trained Japanese jiu-jitsu and from then pivoted to bjj when he was around 15.

Trans also briefly trained MMA but didn’t keep up with it. Trans’ first teacher was actually Mike Pyle (of UFC fame).

Trans also talked joining Chekmat and ultimately transitioning to GFTeam.

Trans also admits he had to learn to love competing. He doesn’t consider himself either strong or athletic for his size. He just liked to train hard and think about techniques.

One other topic discussed was dealing with injury as Trans had his ACL reconstructed roughly one year ago.

Alexander Trans also spent some time teaching in the UAE. He’s quite open about the experience and discussed everything from how the kids take bjj in schools to what kind of money and privileges the coaching stuff has.
